Create the year around garden

The Newfoundland Horticultural Society welcomed Dan Rubin to speak to the membership at the March monthly meeting on March 6, 2020. Dan spoke of his cold frame philosophy and shared many ideas on methods and techniques to extend the growth of gardens into the later growing season and for over-wintering plants. He was gracious in sharing his successes in growing various fruit trees, shrubs and food plants which can have an extended growth period when using the proper methology. Dan also shared informa-tion about several greenhouse research and development projects in which he is involved with. Finally, Dan invited any member who has interest in his research and home gardening to contact him to discuss his interests or to attend one of his workshop sessions which are held at his property in Pouch Cove, NL.
